That this promotional image for Spike Jonez's upcoming epic adaptation of "Where the Wild Things Are" looks disturbingly pedophilic....?
I mean the kid is screaming.... and the monster's got his arm around him... and has a really creepy smirk on his face =/
Regardless.... the movie looks wayy2doppe. It's directed by Spike Jonez (director of "Being John Malkovich, and Jackass the Movie.... odd combination,) it features animatronic costumes & puppetry (like Sesame St.) combined with CGI faces... and a kickass soundtrack by the likes of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs & The Arcade Fire (as heard in the trailer.)
Speaking of which.... this was like the GREATEST TRAILER EVER. Never before had i been so moved by a piece of marketing. The guys at the studios really know the target audience; the scribbled font, The Arcade Fire, the lighting, the imagery, the use of earth tones... the kid that look like a 9 year old emo Cillian Murphy.... it's like every hipster's wet dream (in a good way.)

kind of reminds me of "Donnie Darko." souped as fuck to see it. It's coming out in October... which is right round my Bday... great way to celebrate my 21st right? seeing a kids movie for nostalgic reasons in order to celebrate how I'm now legally an adult (for like the 4th time?)
